Getting Started on Your Story Workshop

Your story matters. Your story will outlive you.
Let me help you craft it.
— Anne Bokma

A workshop for community organizations and volunteer, church, and corporate groups

This is 90-minute workshop is designed for anyone who would like to familiarize themselves with the art of memoir and start thinking about a story they might like to write and tell from their lives. By the end of the workshop, participants will have completed (at the very least) an opening and a scene for their story.

I’ll guide you through the process, you’ll be in a lively group with others who are interested in memoirs and I can promise it’ll be a joyful, creative (and painless!) experience.

It may even prompt you to start to tackle a larger memoir writing project.

Available in person and through Zoom for up to 20 people.

Workshop fee: $600

Anne’s workshop ‘How to Write and Tell Your Story’ was engaging, interactive and a creative way to consider how to write a memoir. So much food for thought. Many participants who hadn’t previously thought about writing a memoir were catapulted into creating one from their own stories.
— Melody Wren, Canadian Freelance Guild
This was the first Zoom workshop I have attended and I was so impressed! The input from Anne (excellent suggestions for writing memoir) along with an opportunity to see previous 6-Minute Memoir participants present, was a winning combination. I was totally engaged.
